A professional visual artists’ organization solely holding the mandate to upload web-pages for Zimbabwean artists on and those who want to join the Africancolours website (www.zimbabwe.africancolours.net). With its headquarters in Harare, the association strives to obtain news, events and visual images concerning the arts from all over Zimbabwe and publish them on the website. Registered with the country’s mother body of all the arts, the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and officially launched in year 2004, the AAA aims to create interaction among artists and promote the work of the African artists as well as bringing about exchange of ideas and supporting the artists’ initiatives.

 

GOALS

  • Improve the information between Africa, Art, Artists and the International community.
  • To encourage the experience between artists and tocreate a network between African Artists.
  • To establish a point where people can have access to the information regarding art.
  • To improve relations in the art fraternity through regular communication.
  • To establish an art information centre and gallery.

 

FUNCTIONS

  • Art Consultancy, perform in international forums and conferences.
  • To act as Art Administrators and organize art events, auctions, workshops and cultural trips.
  • Providing internet access to artists for E-commerce purposes.
  • To offer the public access to African Art through community projects.
  • Showcase the creative visual talents of the Zimbabwean community.
  • To promote the diverse visions and expression of the members.
  • To offer the public the opportunities to visit and interact with artist in an open environment.
  • Operate a professional gallery with affordable exhibiting space to all.
