Doris is one of the most hard working female artists in Zimbabwe..She is a leading element for the development of art in the country through showcasing her work in the form of paintings , sculptures dry points as well as monoprints at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe and other relevant venues of her choice.
Kamupira was trained at BAT workshop in Harare, Zimbabwe between 1995 and 1997.She has won awards for her work and this has actually created her a durable / stable life foundation.
To show her solidarity, Doris attended and participated in various group exhibitions at the National Art Gallery and had her solo exhibition at the same venue in 2003.In 2001 , she participated in Batapata International Art Workshop which was led by Chiko Chazunguza and Beverly Sterling.The workshop was meant to create new styles or artistry movements of paintings, metal sculpturing and installations.
In Zambia 2003 , she was also involved in the Insakartist International Art Workshop as well as Africancolours and Dutch Skies art workshop in the Netherlands.
Her painting , Street Life’ is a very enticing and compelling piece which features typical situation in our streets in both the low and high density suburbs where some people make ends meet through selling various fruits to various people.
Doris is a member of Africancolours Artists` Association. She was born in October 1974.
